Clair De Lune by Claude Debussy except you’re exploring a supposedly haunted cave at night, and it seems to just start playing somewhere in the depths. As you head toward the source of the music and as it gets louder, you begin to hear whispers.
I reblog this every time I see it, because the part that makes this so horrific to me, is that the room is a direct callback to Goodnight Moon. It takes this memory of safety and security and turns it directly upside down and I love it.

In need of an academic?
What he lacks in strength, Cyrus makes up for in intelligence. Having spent most of his life sequestered due to illness, his only means of enrichment was reading absolutely anything he could get his hands on. His range of knowledge is wide, and if there’s something he doesn’t know yet, he’ll waste no time in researching it.
Sky pirates, preferably useful ones.
Though it’s lesser known and rarely spoken of among current company, Cyrus was once a sky pirate himself, I’m open for arranging previous rivalries or friendships of anyone who would have possibly known him or met him.
If you’ve got an airship– that’s all the better. Helps to have a bit of an adventurous streak– and courage to spare. Cyrus is looking for willing individuals to help him travel to some places more dangerous than others. He seeks knowledge more than artifacts and is more than willing to share a generous portion of the spoils as payment.
There’s something not quite right about him.
This boy ain’t right. His aether’s all bottled up, and quite literally killing him. Very obvious to those gifted enough to see it.
He’s quite ill, his body is heavily poisoned by his aether. He’s in need of a doctor willing to help him find a way to recover or at least survive a little longer. Preferably without magic.
Morticians, or better yet, necromancy.
He’s lately had the feeling that his turbulent job is a bit too much for him. He’s not so secretly been reading up on alchemy and mortuary techniques for as long as he’s been able to read, having quite the fascination with death, and he’d jump at any opportunity to learn firsthand and work as an apprentice mortician.
As an addendum, necromancy is interesting too– though not so much in practice, and more so in that he’s looking for some alternatives for his shortened lifespan.
